Croup Sucks

So this is my first post. I am lucky enough to be able to post about the lovely day we have had. Wallis started with a mild cough & allergy symptoms late in the week last week. Well last night, all hell broke loose. She was up from 12- around 4 am coughing. She could hardly breathe from all the coughing. She coughed so much she would gag & dry heave. It was pitiful. Her cough was sounding really croupy so I started the shower on hot and we sat in the bathroom for about 15 minutes. That seemed to help a little and she finally went to sleep only to wake coughing in a couple of hours.
Well I know that there is no need for antibiotics with Croup, so I was hesitant to call the pediatrician. I was almost positive that I would just be paying them $25 to tell me there is nothing to be done. Being the paranoid mother that I am, I called. They had me bring her in and boy am I glad I did. As soon as she walked through the door and the doctor heard her coughing, she had Wallis take a steroid pill. After the exam, the doc ordered a steroid injection and a prescription for some to take orally for the next 3 days.
Wallis was NOT amused with the shot. She refused to walk on that leg for hours. LOL The shot or pill worked wonders though because she is passed out on the couch as I type. On a side note, Parker is about to be murdered by her sister. Parker just woke up from nap and can't resist her sister being so still and sweet on the couch. She is petting Wallis and laying her head on her. All who know Wallis, know that she is NOT a happy Poopalina when she wakes up or especially GETS woken up. She will wake up and beat Parker down shortly. I can already see it. :)

Mac, our new Pug, is getting so big. He is the funniest little bug eyed pup. Here he is for your viewing pleasure.

Isn't he a cutie? The girls just love him.. a little too much at times. He hides from them often. :)
